Ranveer Allahbadia controversy: Youtuber moves Supreme Court over FIRs against him in different states
Ranveer Allahbadia has gone to the Supreme Court because there are several police reports against him for making inappropriate comments on ‘India’s Got Latent’. He has publicly apologized, admitted his remarks were wrong, and asked the show’s producers to cut out the insensitive parts.
Ranveer Allhabadia on Friday petitioned the Supreme Court for the merger of several FIRs registered against him for the allegedly obscene comments made by him during his guest appearance on the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent.’
CJI Sanjiv Khanna said the case will be listed soon for hearing after his lawyer mentioned it.
Allahbadia’s remark led to a huge outrage all over the nation and on social media, after which the Youtuber publicly apologized. In a video posted on his X handle, he admitted that his remarks were insensitive and inappropriate.
He acknowledged that his comment was out of line and lacked humor. Allahbadia also recognized that comedy isn’t his strong suit and expressed regret for not considering his words more carefully beforehand.
“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte; I am just here to say sorry,” Allahbadia said.
He talked about worries that he might be a bad influence on younger audiences and pledged to act more responsibly going forward. He emphasized, “Family is the last thing I would ever disrespect.” Additionally, Allahbadia asked the producers of ‘India’s Got Latent‘ to cut the parts of the episode where his comments could be seen as insensitive.
I requested that the video creators take out the insensitive sections. Ultimately, all I can do is say I’m sorry and hope for your forgiveness as a fellow human being.
